Employee Spotlight: Kristy Kramer
Tell us about yourself and how long you’ve been with Optimal Dynamics.

I’ve been with Optimal Dynamics for nearly two and a half years, following a long career in logistics. I live in Warren, Michigan with my son, my brother, and our two doodles. I’m an avid Detroit Tigers fan and can’t wait to enjoy being a season ticket holder for the 2026 season. Outside of work, I host a true crime podcast that has reached listeners in more than 24 countries.
Can you briefly summarize your job?
My role as a Customer Support Manager is a bit unique. When people hear “support,” they often think I simply resolve tickets, but my responsibilities go far beyond that. Yes, I handle support inquiries, but I’m also focused on ensuring our customers have a positive, seamless experience. I often joke that my job is to create “rainbows and sunshine,” because I’m here to make sure our customers feel supported and satisfied.
Customers reach out for many different reasons, and when an issue requires expertise beyond my scope, I collaborate with our brilliant team here at Optimal Dynamics to ensure they receive a swift and accurate resolution.
What inspired you the most to join Optimal Dynamics?
Before joining Optimal Dynamics, I spent 26 years in the logistics industry, working in roles ranging from driver payroll and load planning to project management. When I felt it was time to move on from my previous company, I spent months searching for the right next step in my career.
That’s when I came across a video of Daniel presenting our platform at the 2022 FreightWaves Conference. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was truly life-changing. As I watched, I realized Optimal Dynamics had solutions for many of the challenges I faced daily in my role. I dove deeper, watching every video I could find, and quickly knew I needed to be part of this company, a part of history in the making. I knew Optimal Dynamics was going to change the transportation industry.
What do you like best about our company culture?
The culture here is truly one of my favorite things about this company. If I had to describe it in three words, they would be supportive, collaborative, and empowering. The word “I” doesn’t really exist here, it’s always “we.” No one works in isolation; we succeed as a team.
While I may not have the same technical expertise as our engineers, developers and designers they never treat me any differently than they treat one another. Every person here is respected, valued, and encouraged to succeed. I remember about a month after joining Optimal Dynamics, I actually wondered if I was dreaming because it all felt almost too good to be real.
What is unique about what we do at Optimal Dynamics?
What makes Optimal Dynamics truly unique is that we solve problems many in the industry don’t even realize exist. Across countless customer implementations, I’ve seen teams discover internal challenges they never knew they had. Optimal Dynamics places a microscope over processes, revealing inefficiencies that had gone unnoticed.
The best part is what happens next, once those insights are uncovered, customers gain the clarity and confidence to make meaningful internal changes that ultimately make them stronger. We’re not just a tool they use; we’re a catalyst for awareness, transformation, and growth.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job comes in two parts. When I first joined, I supported a small group of customers with similar business models, allowing me to focus deeply but limiting my exposure beyond that subset. In my current role, I have the privilege of working with every customer we serve. I get to ensure each one feels valued, seen, and heard. As the company grows, it’s easy for customers to feel lost in the momentum, but I have the opportunity to keep them grounded and confident, making sure they remain happy and supported.
The other part I love is the cross department collaboration that comes with being in support. I get to see the inner workings of almost every team and provide input and feedback that helps shape and improve our platform. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing one of my suggestions implemented, it truly feels like being part of history as it’s being made.
How does your work impact our product, and, therefore, the industry?
My work directly shapes our product experience because, as part of the Support team, we are the first line of defense when customers encounter an issue. We often identify problems before any other department, and it’s our responsibility to respond quickly and effectively, whether that means resolving the issue ourselves or collaborating with other teams to ensure a swift solution.
The faster we resolve problems, the sooner our customers can return to planning, and that efficiency builds trust in our platform. That trust drives usage, and increased usage fuels growth.
I truly believe that if we continue operating with this level of commitment and impact, one day Optimal Dynamics won’t just be known across the industry, it will be a household name.
What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team, and what was the impact on the company?
My biggest accomplishment has been revamping our support desk with my team. When I first started, we didn’t have a dedicated support team, everyone did their best to jump in as tickets came through. We spent two solid months organizing and closing out the backlog; many tickets had been resolved but were never formally closed.
Since then, we’ve implemented support KPIs to ensure our team keeps customer tickets current and resolves them in a timely and consistent manner. This transformation has created a much more efficient, reliable support experience for both our team and our customers.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
Since joining Optimal Dynamics, my professional growth has exceeded anything I imagined. I’ve deepened my understanding of the logistics industry by working closely with a wide range of transportation carriers, and I’ve gained invaluable exposure to the technology side of the business as well. I’m constantly learning from our engineers and developers, who are always willing to share their expertise and help me expand my skills. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even learn to code, something I never would have considered possible for myself before. But at Optimal Dynamics, growth feels limitless and anything truly seems possible.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love to stay busy and explore anything that sparks my creativity. When I’m not spending time with my family, you can usually find me making something with my hands, whether it’s photography, crocheting, painting, or diving into whatever craft captures my interest. I also spend a lot of time researching true crime cases and writing episodes for my podcast, which has become one of my favorite creative outlets.
Travel is another passion of mine. Tennessee and Florida hold a special place in my heart, and my long-term goal is to eventually call one of them home.
Something deeply important to me is raising awareness and support for ALS, Pancreatic Cancer, and Epilepsy; conditions that have directly affected my immediate family. I’m committed to fundraising and advocacy, with the hope that one day, in my lifetime, we’ll be able to say, “We have a cure.”
Can you share a hidden talent no one knows about you?
I’m not sure I have a hidden talent, as I’m pretty open about the things I do, but if I had to choose one, it would be storytelling. People have told me throughout my life that I should be a writer, and I’ve been able to tap into that skill through the episodes I create for my podcast. I’m also in the early stages of writing a book about losing both of my parents to terminal illnesses in 2019, a story that’s deeply personal and meaningful to share.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work at Optimal Dynamics?
The best advice I can give anyone considering a career at Optimal Dynamics is this: come in with an open mind and a willingness to explore your own potential. This is a place where thinking outside the box isn’t just encouraged, it’s expected. Don’t be afraid to question something, offer a new perspective, or challenge an idea that doesn’t quite sit right with you.
Our team thrives on honesty, collaboration, and curiosity. We value subject matter experts because their insights help us build the strongest product possible. If you're ready to learn, contribute, and grow in ways you may not even anticipate, then you’ll thrive here.
